Privacy Policy
Effective September 8, 2026. This policy explains how PrepJet handles information when you use the iOS app and this website.
Information stored on your device
Your study history, answers, saved questions, streaks, goals, topics, settings, and widget preferences are stored locally on your device and in PrepJet’s shared app container so the app and widget can work together. PrepJet does not provide a visible account or ask for your name or email to use the app.
Information processed by service providers
PrepJet creates a random installation identifier and an anonymous Firebase user identifier. Neither directly identifies you or creates a visible account. The anonymous Firebase identifier is also used with RevenueCat and PostHog so subscription activity can be understood alongside app usage. The installation identifier is associated with the notification registration and may be stored with the RevenueCat subscriber record. These pseudonymous identifiers allow records to be linked across sessions and services; Firebase credentials may persist in iOS Keychain after the app is reinstalled.
- PostHog receives the anonymous user identifier and product analytics such as app lifecycle events, screens or features used, settings status, and paywall interactions. Session replay is disabled.
- RevenueCat receives pseudonymous identifiers, purchase and subscription status, product information, and related transaction events to provide and restore paid access. RevenueCat may send subscription events to PostHog using the same anonymous user identifier.
- Sentry receives crash reports, handled errors, device and app diagnostics, and sampled performance information. We do not attach the analytics user identifier, but an SDK-generated installation identifier may associate technical reports with a device. Screenshots, view hierarchies, session replay, and default personal information collection are disabled.
- Firebase uses anonymous authentication to secure installation-specific notification requests. Firebase Cloud Messaging and Firestore process the anonymous user and installation identifiers, a device notification token, notification preference, app environment, and limited subscription and trial-reminder state such as product, renewal status, trial expiration time, reminder status, and delivery results. This is used to schedule, verify, deduplicate, and send one trial-ending reminder if notifications are allowed.
- Apple processes App Store purchases, subscription management, notification delivery, and device services under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy.
How we use information
We use this information to operate the app and widget, verify paid access, restore purchases, send requested notifications, diagnose crashes, measure feature performance, prevent duplicate reminders, answer support requests, and improve PrepJet. We do not use the information for third-party advertising and do not sell personal information.
Notifications
Notification permission is optional. If you allow notifications, PrepJet may send a local daily study reminder and a server-scheduled reminder about 24 hours before an eligible free trial ends. The server checks current trial status before sending and cancels the reminder when it is no longer applicable. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings.
This website
This website does not use analytics, advertising pixels, or marketing cookies by default. Vercel hosts the site and, like other hosting providers, may process basic request information such as IP address, user agent, requested page, and timestamps to deliver and protect the service.
Retention and choices
Local study data remains on your device until you remove it or delete the app, subject to iOS behavior and device backups managed by Apple. Service providers retain usage, purchase, delivery, and diagnostic records according to their operational needs and policies. Deleting the app does not automatically delete those existing records or cancel a subscription. Trial-reminder records are kept only as needed to schedule, verify, deduplicate, and troubleshoot delivery. You may turn off notifications in iOS Settings, manage your subscription through Apple, or contact us about a privacy request; we may need an app identifier or purchase information to locate a relevant record.
Children
PrepJet is an SAT study tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and address it.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as PrepJet changes. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date. For privacy questions or requests, email aaryan@widgetworks.in.
